5 Top Tips For Marketing Your Business Online

Digital Marketing

Online marketing has come a long way and is a fantastic opportunity to invest your business budget. Unlike traditional marketing, it’s easier to adjust your campaigns online if they are not performing as you’d hoped and you can clearly track whether or not your efforts are working.

There are lots of different online marketing methods, some more expensive but with quicker results and some that are slow but steady. If you’re wondering where to start, you’ll be pleased to know that I’ve collaborated with a digital marketing agency in Hertfordshire to provide you with some helpful tips.

1. Google Ads (PPC)

Formerly known as Google AdWords, this paid form of advertising will shoot you to the top of Google’s SERP. This is a great method if you want quick results and, when done well, will always lead to some form of conversion, but you’ll need to ensure your ads are highly relevant and of good quality.

2. Link Building

Every time your website receives a backlink from another website with higher domain authority, it implies to Google that your website is credible, therefore boosting your rankings. It’s similar to receiving a reference from one of your previous employers; the more quality recommendations you have to more reliable you will appear.

3. Social Media

Depending on your industry, you should sign up to at least one of the big social media platforms (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Pinterest etc.) so that you can engage with potential customers. If you don’t have time to manage your accounts, platforms like Hootsuite will allow you to schedule posts in advance.

4. Email Marketing

Sending emails to your existing customers is a great way to encourage repeat purchases. Emails are great because you can easily track who has clicked on your call to actions and whether or not they have converted (or even opened the email in the first place). If your open rate is poor, you’ll know to improve (and potentially A/B test) your subject lines in future campaigns.

5. Blogging

Like link building, blogging is great for your SEO and will help improve your rankings in the SERP. Writing a longer article with relevant keywords will trigger a response from Google, whilst also adding value to your customers. If your struggling with time to write a blog, you could use a professional copywriting service.

Of course, the above marketing methods merely scratch the surface and there’s so much more you can do to build brand awareness and entice customers. Don’t be afraid to call in a professional to help you with your marketing; it’s better to pay a little bit extra initially and actually get results than to do a mediocre job and not reap the benefits.
