What Happens To Luggage After Dropping It Off At Check-In?
Lindy Loves perfectly explains the route that suitcases take to reach the plane you are boarding, mentioning how after dropping your suitcase at the check-in desk, an airline staff member will attach a tag to your luggage and place it on a conveyor belt.
Then, your suitcase will reach the baggage handling system which scans your flight information on the tag and directs your suitcase in the right direction. After your suitcase has gone up and down, right and left across the handling system, it reaches the baggage collection area. Here, a baggage handler will scan your suitcase’s tag again and place it on a baggage cart, ready to be moved to the aeroplane.
I think that airports are truly exciting, and I’d go as far as saying that airports are like small cities – people work in these, you can visit them, shop your favourite brands, eat in a variety of restaurants and experience hundreds of activities to keep you busy.
