Everyone is becoming more environmentally conscious these days to protect the planet. After all, we only have one planet and we need to look after it.
Many bleaches have chlorine which is toxic, so why not think of some natural ways to clean? There are a number of products that are eco-friendly cleaners out there and some of my favourites are below.

1. Bicarbonate of soda is a deodoriser. Use it on your carpet to freshen it up. Sprinkle liberally especially over dirty areas, leave for an hour then hoover. You can also use it to clean the grouting in your bath. Work it in with a small toothbrush gently, leave for an hour and then rinse off.
2. Lemons are amazing. The best way to clean a microwave is to put a cup of cold water and half a lemon in a microwave. Put on high for a couple of minutes. The steam will loosen any dried-on food. Then get you lemon and rub it around the microwave. Then get a damp cloth and wipe all over.
3. Vinegar is your friend. Make a solution of half white vinegar and half water. Add a few drops of essential oils and then put in a spray bottle. A great solution for making your shower door screen sparkler. Also, you can clean drains and toilets by pouring vinegar down, and leaving for a few hours before rinsing with water.
4. Cut up old cotton t-shirts to make reusable cleaning rags. Better than disposable cleaning wipes.
5. Red wine stains on the carpet can be treated with salt. Wipe up the wipe gently, so not to spread the stain, then pour salt on the wet area and leave overnight. Then hoover up.
6. Olive oil is great for wood. Add a small amount to a cloth and work into natural wood for a lovely sheen. It is also a great makeup remover and will remove even waterproof mascara.
7. If you have stains on white clothing, try adding some lemon juice to the stain. Leave for a while, then wash the item in hot water.
8. Essential oils have natural anti-bacterial properties. Make a natural laundry freshen up liquid by adding some lavender oil to some water and spritz over smelly clothes.
Let me know if you have any spring eco cleaning hacks.
